Rod Particle Mixing Simulation
In this video simulation, rod shaped particles are mixed and collected within a cylindrical container. We can use these simulations to extract porosity measurements that inform how cells may interact and deposit proteins in the area between these particles. Typical particles are spherical but as the aspect ratio of the particle increases, the void fraction within the system will always theoretically increase. We hope to use these particles to guide cell migration and infiltration into injured tissues. This project was lead by one of the postdocs in the lab.
